Winter
Now the winter has come to Kiruna. The endless land is covered by a white blanket, keeping it frozen until months after the grumpy sunday morning on which daylight saving time will once again start. Here, snow doesn't melt before the sun. The sun, which can still be seen, though always close to the horizon. The land will thaw just in time to welcome the midnight sun, welcoming billions of musquitoes and driving away the few souls having their residence in this peculiar town. Before that, the land will sink in a sleep, ever deeper and deeper, to come to a complete halt when the last sunrise of 2009 sends its crawling rays to the citizens preparing their christmas decorations.
