It starts with a lot of things to be fixed.
Get a computer and install the necessary things on it.
Get enrolled in the university health insurance, bridging the three months until the provincial health insurance kicks in.
Get keys (at a rather high deposit).
Get accounts for the various IT services and information on how to access them.
Get the necessary forms to configure direct deposit. If not done in time, the first salary will be paid by — usch! — cheque.
Get a library card.
Get the mandatory post-doc service fee paid.
Get the form for estimating how much money should be withdrawn for taxes.
It does start with a lot of things to be fixed. But after some days, I can start working.
